They have mentioned 2 cases of health problems in their blogs senyorpretty Must be a serious illness to keep them from updating for so long.

I was really hoping that they'd change their sales to something even slightly more rea***able. I mentioned this last year too. The absolute minimum value in which this is worth your money is when you spend $255 on EV's. That's just crazy and, while it's good for the people that were already planning to spend lots, it's definitely important for someone to post something like this to warn people not to buy it unless they plan to buy the three 250 EV bundles.

This is a decent deal only for the big spenders. For any casual users, ignore this sale entirely and just buy what you need. Don't get tricked.

Also, it's nice that someone beat me to throwing out all the math for people.

Thanks! That was very informative. I don’t plan on buying evs this week (only next year) but knowing it was the same as last year, I’d say there are good chances it stays the same. I suck at maths and usually don’t notice that kind of thing so i probably would’ve been had. I plan to buy in 2020 3 times the biggest pack to get a fuckton of evs for the best price value. But like, it’s expensive af for only porn so in that case i would’ve gone for a smaller combo in which case i would’ve been tricked so yep, thx.

Dont forget the fact theres free Evs for Karma and still not a good deal to buy them...

There's really no such thing as a "good deal" on Whentai, everything is always incredibly overpriced. These are just "the least awful" ones.

Truth be told it's even more of a rip-off this year because they've removed the 100 EV option, so the only possible way to get something from this promotion is to spend at least 255$ on it.
They literally took the complaint that the 20EV option is never worth it compared to the 100EV option and "solved" it by removing the 100 EV option and leaving only the most overpriced options available.

Addendum: My per***al suggestion to Whentai would be to give each tier of bundles a UNIQUE promotional offer that's designed so that each tier (if promotion is used on it) ends up being more efficient than just buying from the next tier.

Example:
Buy three 20 EV bundles, get 90 extra EVs!
-This would (in practice) get you 150 EVs for 45$, which is comparable in price to buying one 100 EV bundle but nets you more EVs per dollar spent and more EVs in total.

Just extend this principle to the other tiers and bam, a discount that's fair to everyone involved.

If you can afford one tier but not the next, this offer would allow you to get more EVs than normal at roughly the same price by instead buying three bundles from the tier directly below it.

This would make it objectively beneficial to the customer to use the Holiday Discount versus not using it whenever possible, while retaining the logical progression of "Buying the higher tier bundles gets you more EVs per dollar than the lower one."

I have no trouble in keeping this post with all its maths and recommendations unless something like "WHENTAI SCAMS YOU ALL, GUYS!" appears in it. If the original post had the same text posted - there will be no hassle at all. But, originally it had a different attitude and was titled with a "SCAM" word.


As for artist GGC: it's a long-going story with him which is not related to the posts from DDM by any means. He got warned a few times: either stop **** talking about WHentai in each and every post, or stop receiving commissions here. He made his decision. He got all his EVs from the balance fairly paid out (so we owe him nothing), and his account was banned for the good. The only commission he got in waitlist (which he agreed to START working on in 16 days time) was canceled, the EVs returned to the member. All his multi accounts will get banned as well as a rule *********.

Just because I didn't call it a scam doesn't make it any less of one.

And still there's an ad every time you visit the site that tries to tell us that it's a special holiday "gift" from the site, use it now and get a good deal.
Intentional or not, that's a text-book scam. That's not an opinion, that's not a suggestion, that is objective fact. No ifs ands or buts.

Some members here on ES only do unlocks of pics. For them it does not make sense to spend alot of momeny on evs. 20 boundle exists only for them. Thats their primary source of evs. The giftoption includes this boundle, to give these members a chance to make a good deal for their primary source of evs. It is just to give them option to spend less money, than they already do without paying a small fortune. That goes for all the others as well. And josuke. This is what i meant. I dont think, you were trying to scam. But by deleting a post that accused you and the site of it, you created the impression of it AND that you are trying to hide it. Thats why i would not call what CCG wrote ****talk. You created that impression and distrust towards you by deleting that post. I get that you dont want a bad impresion about the website runnimg rampage. But you should have talked about it with us or at least DDM about it. Ideal would have been to inform us how the gift should work, before starting it. And i think thats DDMs point here. I'm not fine with art theft, the difference between you and I is where we draw the line between what is and isn't theft. I simply think your standards for it are ludicrously over-the-top.

I don't see why this issue doesn't trigger you, considering it effectively means people are being scammed out of their money through deception. Two out of the four available "holiday gift offers" literally mean that you're losing money compared to just buying normally. Under EVERY possible circumstance, no exceptions. It is IMPOSSIBLE to not lose money for no benefit if you take those deals, regardless of who you are or what your situation is.

Those 2 offers have no rea*** to exist other than to have some people who don't do the math fall for it and get Whentai some extra cash to the customer's detriment. It's insulting to their customers that such an offer is even being put forward and then justifying it with "just let idiots flush their money down the toilet, nobody cares." Is that how the users are valued at Whentai?

The rea*** this is an issue is that if you can afford three 20 EV bundles to use the holiday offer, you've already paid more money for 80 EVs than if you'd just bought the 100 EV bundle once instead.

It's a scam to even offer such a deal because if you take it, you have objectively made a loss no matter what. There is NO circumstance in which the holiday deal will get you any profit unless you spend it on the most expensive options, so it shouldn't even be available for the smaller bundles since it's just baiting people into flushing their money down the toilet.

Sign of the times though Swag, if your going to run a site and make a business out of it your going to have to make choices that wont please everybody, There are costs. It's not like everyone chips in a dollar a month in support and if they did then yeah, this place could be more ad free or have money competitions for artists/users get rewards.

Yeah I agree with you about the change. But just like you said to many it is a downgrade compared to 2015. However I do dig the commission section over the request section that was the more popular thing before.
