About PayPal payments

Hello there. Now the minimum payout amount on PayPal will be $100. This is due to some technical limitations.

  • I'm sorry, but Paypal still doesn't work with me.

Thank you for letting everyone know about this. I've been hesitant to start a commission here since artists have said they haven't received their payment. Also, just letting you know that attempting to buy any of the EV packs with PayPal leads to an error page for me as well.

Oh! Thank you so much. Could you people be more specific, please?

I really would like a further explanation about the situation if its possible, I pretty much only use Whentai for payments and constantly keep inviting people to this place, I even was about to start a project using Whentai but after the irregularity of the last few weeks, now I feel its quite risky keep using Whentai for now

Can you explain this a bit more for us artists, please?

When you say "technical limitations", is the issue coming from WH's side or from PayPal's side? How long is this going to be in effect? Is it a permanent thing? Did it just get harder for artists to get paid sooner since we have to wait to accumulate $100 to get a payout?

The average commission cost on this site ranges from $10-27 for a piece. So we have to bid out and win an average of 5-10 commissions, do the art/s for a number of days, then wait for payout for yet more days. Not to mention that not all artists win bids all the time which means the gap from winning one commission to the next is yet more days. That means an artist's payout could be unclaimable for weeks to months. I'm not sure that this is fair.

For any artist trying to make a reliable living from this site, it seems rather unreliable now, doesn't it?

I've been one of the artists here since Whentai started and I gotta say, if this thing becomes the norm, it's gonna be less viable for artists moving forward. There might even be a migration out of the site if this isn't handled well.

I will pass. I am sorry but I cannot wait to get 5 images for one payment. PayPal has no such payment limits. I will come back when you change this stuff. Sorry people! Search me on my Patreon(Discreen Vision).

I think for now I'll pm artists with commission ideas and ask them how they how they want to get paid.

hope the site get better soon (if not the evs that i bought will be for nothing if there's no artist to recive them)

A while ago someone told me the formula for converting EVs into USD is (EVs - 10%) * 0.3. If this is true then 371 EVs = 100.17 USD. The minimum amount for artists to receive their payment without completing another commission is 371 EVs. Just be prepared to spend that much if the artist needs the money right away.

well i think that to solve this problem is to all artist start to bet higher on the comissions if they want to recive their money on a more regular base (so forget having comissions made on less than 200 evs)
